Custom/Replacement CoversConcast offers special covers to be used for a variety of applications including replacing covers used in existing trench runs. They are especially useful for poured-in-place trench systems. The charts below lists some of the common sizes for pedestrian rated covers; but they can also be designed to meet AASHTO H10, H20, and H40 Traffic Ratings for road crossing applications. Concrete covers utilize threaded inserts for machine assisted lifting.

These charts depict some of Concast's more common custom pedestrian-rated trench covers. Other sizes, traffic ratings, and designs are available upon request. Refer to our replacement cover sizing worksheet which is available in both a pdf file as well as a downloadable Excel spreadsheet if you are considering getting custom covers for an existing trench run. The worksheet is a great communication and planning tool.
Concast has a simple part numbering convention for the custom covers: XWL-H(RW).
- The "X" variable can be one of 4 different materials:
- A=Aluminum
- C=Concrete
- F=Fibercrete ®
- SG=Steel Galvanized (Pedestrian Rated)
- HTSG=Steel Galvanized (Heavy Traffic Rated)
- The "W" variable refers to cover width (spans the channel)
- The "L" variable refers to cover length
- The "H" variable refers to cover height
- Drop the "H" for covers that are 1-1/4" high/thick
- Also referred to as the "C" variable on the sizing chart.
- The "RW" variable refers to rib width as it spans the cover.
- Drop the "RW" is no rib is needed.
